Hola! Como estais mi familia!
This week was a blast. As you know I got transferred to Regocijo. It's just five minutes or so closer to the beach in Emeraldas than Libertad where I was. I love my new sector. The members are all awesome and so willing to work with us. We have been asked by the bishop to train all the leaders and visiting teachers in our ward on how to teach the fundamental principles of the gospel. So when we get that done were going to have a great foundation to work super hard and have a ton of success here. My comp told me this analogy that I liked a lot. He said, "Some times we missionaries like to skip the members and just work faster by ourselves, but it's like using a fishing pole to fish. We do get a fish every now and then, but if we take time to make a net, tying each and every knot carefully, or training and constructing relationships with the members, in the end we will be able to cast in a net and catch a ton of fish." I like this analogy quite a bit. I'm also really close to the beach so that's awesome. The views are sweet. I'm hoping next week I can have some pictures of the views to show you guys. Elder Leong is the man; we're going to do a lot for this sector. We basically inherited it with nothing. He had two weeks in the sector when we were made comps so we didnt know anything. We're basically rebuilding from the ground up right now, but it's going better than I ever could have hoped. I was super nervous for this area. I knew it a little. I knew that success was hard to come by here. Not one baptism or rescatato in all my time here, and I was worried about my ability to speak the language, but one week later, I have seen very well how the Lord qualifies the called, not calls the qualified. He's boosted me in every area as a missionary in this last week, and I'm so happy right now. I never want to leave the sector I'm in. I know if we do our part in everything, the Lord will do great wonders for us. I've been blessed immensely with the language since I arrived. It's been so hard at times but I'm starting to see the rewards. Elder Valverde taught me some incredible things in two weeks. God put me with him for me to become a missionary. He taught me in two weeks how to be the best missionary I can be. I was sad to leave him, but I completely and totally changed as a missionary with what I learned with him. Now I feel very good about the future with Elder Leong and all my future comps and areas. My house in Regocijo is really clean and water passes through everyday. I still shower out of a bucket, but this bucket is awesome so I dont even mind it. The last one was broken. I love the house; it's so awesome. Ya well we are working hard. We did have two guys commit to baptism yesterday so we're super excited. We're gonna make regocijo a great place before long. I'm super excited about everything. That's about all I have this week so I love you guys. I'll talk to ya next week. Chow!
