Hola familia! This week was awesome!! We worked super hard and we were rewarded at the end with four baptisms. Fausto Raul Tixi Patajano, Evelyn Katherine Frutos Cevallos, Carmen Margarita Briones Espinales, and Piedad Del Carmen Macias Briones were baptized this last Saturday and it was awesome! The service was awesome, but the water was extremely cold because the heater didn't turn on. That's the way we make sure our converts are realy converted here in Ecuador! It was awesome! They asked us Elders to sing a special hymn after, and well, I finally learned why they always made us practice the songs before the actual day when we sang as youth in church. They asked us to sing in English. Well without any practice and singing a song I'd never sung before, it was a rough night for the gringo okapella group. . . It was more of a humourous act to get the minds of the converts off how cold the water was. It did work well though! Also the Flia Chinchuña have baptismal dates for the 9th of May, so I'm hoping that one comes to pass because changes are the week after. I love that family so much, and they are so close. The kids already got baptized, so we are just waiting on the dad. He seems like he is finally ready though. The sad note to the week is that one of our best investigators told us she couldn't keep listening to us and so we lost one there. It was rough because she did everyting we asked but her family was putting a lot of pressure on her, and she told us that she just couldn't do it anymore. That was sad. This week I was able to play basketball for the first time in forever. It was awesome. That was pretty fun. This week was just a really regular week apart from the baptisms. That is about all that happened. There is a scripture in John 7:24, that says, Judge not according to appearnance, but judge righteous judgement." I love this scripture. There is an important lesson to be learned that many times we forget. Many people need us but we don't act because of their physical appearance. I know that we can become more like Christ if we can help out those in need and overcome this challenge. I love al you guys! Talk to ya next week!
