I've got 5 minutes but I made it here alright and the city is beautiful. It looks a lot like a blown up version of hole nine green because there are like 3 teers to the city and Quito is at the top. I had some Papa Johns and it was delicioso. Thursday I'll get my companion. My president is super cool and I can not wait to work with him in the future. The bear (pic) is super crazy though. Just lettin ya know I'm alive. Hasta luego.

Hola familia! Life is super good here and I am so ready to leave for Ecuador. I started packing today after I got my laundry done and folded. I passed that book around that Marci made for me and got everyone to sign it and leave their contact info and they loved it haha. My comp read the story about me stealing 300 dollars from Dad to save money for a video game. We both had a good laugh about that one. This week Elder Killpack arm-wrestled a big kid from another district and won. It was the sickest thing ever. Their faces were so red. It lasted for a good minute or so. The mail is still not here but I am hoping someday it will get here. Yesterday we learned how to teach la ley de castidad in Español. The law of chastity. Ya that was a fun one, but I'm glad we did it because I know what to do know. Probably a good thing my first one wasn't with a real investiator haha! Sawyer looks a ton like Taj did. Just think when he meets me for the first time. He wont even know what to think about that haha. Glad to hear Haiven is still keeping the attention on you at malls and restaurants. She has always been good at that. SO I have a funny story, so this guy named Shawn Cates gave a fantastic talk for our sunday devotional last week. It was like GA talk, it was so good, he is the man. Anyway the next day Hurtado got doughnuts and two krispy kream hats came with it so we were wearing them in the comedor. At the comedor before we eat we wash are hands in the bathroom and I always throw my tie over my shoulder. Well I forgot to bring it back down because when i walked out the line was HUGE! so I went to the end and Shawn Cates walked by. SO not realizing how I looked I stopped him and told him how great that talk was and how much I enjoyed it. When I returned to the line Kimball was like"you know, the best part about that is that your tie is still over your shoulder" and I remembered how I looked. So, looking like a fool I appraoched a future GA and told him all about how I was going to use his talk in my mission. I guess I do take after mom a little bit. This picture above is about how I looked! I got my flight plans, you will be pleased to know that I am flying with Airforce Juan so my life is in good hands. No just kidding the airlines are great and I cant remember what airline im with but I do know that there is a Panda Express and Carls Jr in the airport and you can bet ill be hittin that up. Oh also I get to call home at the airport. I will be calling around 11 pm your time maybe a tad later. I know its late but my flight leaves at 2 30 A.m and we have to be there 3 hours early so that is the best I can do. So keep your phones on! I have another funny story but It will take a differetn email due to space so I will talke to you guys Monday, I also get to email monday. See ya until then. Hasta Luego This is the story of the stripling missionaries battling the mosquitos in the CCM. The pictures are in order according to each paragraph. Therefore what say ye my sons will ye go against them to battle! (Alma 56 44) And Behold they had never fought before. . . . But they fought as if with the strength of God. (Alma 56 56) And too our great astonishment not one the soldiers had fallen yet none of them did not recieve many wounds. (Alma 56 56) I didnt get all the pictures I wanted in the story and I forgot my scriptures so It wasn't as good but the point is a great battle raged and we won!! Hey everyone, so this week has been pretty fast but also pretty uneventful. I leave the CCM on the 29th of July and that day is just not coming fast enough. Im ready for Ecuador! I had a sore throat for 11 days in a row so that sucked but when I went to the enfermeria they gave me some stuff to take and I am doing good now. So my district has 4 boys going to Ecuador and 4 going to Peru and so when we play fútbol we play Peru vs. Ecuador and it is fun. Today Ecuador won, I put a laser in the top right corner to spark a 5 goal come back for the win. It was awesome. This email I just want to tell you guys a little bit about my district because I didnt do a whole lot this week. So my companion Elder Landon Spencer played Lacrosse back home and enjoyed traveling a lot. His dad works for the airlines as a mechanic so they get deals with flying. He is a super cool I really enjoy having him as my com. Our distric leader is Elder Jacob Sok, he is in the Army as a medical guy. He has moved around a lot but he calls Spokane Washington his home. His parents live in the marshal islands right now. Is comp is Elder Mckay Dayton, he grew up in Provo and enjoys music and things of that nature. We have Elder Tyler Killpack, he is a freakin stud, he grew up in Shelly Idaho and I love ELder Killpack, we are the two that kinda trash talk eachother and give eachother a hard time throughout the day but its all in fun of course. Were real good friends but hes headed Peru along with his Comp Elder Joseph Hurtado who is basically another David Artaleta, I dont know how to spell that last name. Hurtado is actually a better singer in my opinion. He will pursue a career with music after the mission. Elder Taylor Bell is a lot Brian. He even looks like he could be a Bothwell. He is also a stud, we talk quite a bit after we get through the day and everyone is in bed. His Comp is Elder Colton Kimball. No relation to Spencer Kimball. He is from San Antonio and he is a cool kid. I like playing soccer with him and hes fun to have around. His family is beyond wealthy back home though. Hes a cool kid though. THe Hermanas in our district are all cool but they never hang out with us or anything so I dont know a whole lot about them. I do know that 1 of them is the niece of Chad Webb who is the semenary director across the whole world. Our semenary system was shown to him by Bro Larose and my name was included so Im hopin he recognizes it. Oh ya I get to meet him today. He is getting here to the CCM today for some reason I dont know. Im excited tho. If it is possible send my a Dr. Pepper. I would appreciate that!. The most notable thing this week was probably when I got my first reference for Ecuador. SO our teachers role play after non member friends that they have and 1 of them role played after someone that lived in Quito so I have her email and number and address for when i am in Quito. Then I convert the Real Gaby and not the one my teacher plays haha. Oh ya my roomates are so awesome. Elder Sanchez comes from Guatemala and he doesnt speak a lick of english but I can still talk to him pretty well. He likes to camp and sing. He plays a little Fútbol and his dad died when he was 4 years a old but last night he told me that he was able to get baptized for his dad in the temple so they are all sealed. Elder Flores speaks perfect English and loves to just be active. His favorite sport is basketball. Oh Dad, I met the Utah Basketball recruit. His name is Elder Rydalch, I dont know his first name but he is the coolest kid ever. His personality does not reflect a stud like basketball player haha. He is humble and and super funny. He is actually in my zone so I talk to him everyday. He is headed to the Guayaquil Ecuador mission though. Elder Austin Clubb and Elder Trevor Smith left us last week. I was super sad becasue we played soccer with them so much. Elder Clubb was a little teary eyed, him Elder Smith and I were really tight. Elder Shaun Bang and Greggory Adling played quite a bit as well but off the court I didnt spend quite as much time with them. Yesterday 200 Elders showed up so the CCm Is packed, There is like 800 missionaries here. I got up at 5 30 and got my laundry done and it was fantastic. We finally broke the rain streak and got 1 whole day of no rain. The next day it poured enough to make up for it though. This week I led a Book of Mormon discussion and it was amazing. I had us read Alma 26 and everyone just shared a lot and it was super cool. I love that chapter. Mother keep reading and praying, I got your letter that was sent on June 23rd yesterday. I dont think they will all take 3 to 4 weeks but its anyones guess with the mailing system here. Mother, others have recieved packages so I think they get here I am not completely sure but I think they are good. Macee, a hatrick is when you score three goals. I am loving life out here. Are the pictures with the links good for the blog? I hope so because that is much easier for me but I hope it all goes well this week with the baby and everything else. Adios mi familia!
Hey every one, life is still super good here. Im having lots of fun. For those wondering about the world cup, lets just say everytime Mexico scored we knew about it because people would yell cars would honk their horns, churches have these cannons to signify they are starting a meeting. . . and that mexico just scored so we always new when mexico scored. Glad you guys had a great fourth of july. I got a sinus infection this week but esta bien. So our latino elders that we play soccer with left but it wasnt too hard to find new ones. The problem is the last ones had a kid who could speak english. For our fourth of July the cooks fed us american food which was great and they had somebody get up and lead us in the national anthem so it was pretty cool. So this is a crazy story, this last tuesday we did this thing called TRC which is where we go teach people. We have to find out about them and teach them according to their needs without any preperation. Well this last tuesday my maestra said a real non member would be there and I asked her after class if I could teach the non member. Well she came up to me and me compañero and said start praying your teaching for realz. This was the first time a non member has come. Well we taught her about the book of mormon and prayer. We taught her how to pray and she said the first prayer of her life! She commited to read and pray about the book of mormon every morning and night which was more than we asked. And wait for it. . . after the lesson we found out she wanted to be baptized!! THis was a real legitamate investigator! It so crazy though because it was all in spanish, I couldnt understand a word she was saying to me but for some reason how I replied seemed to be what she wanted to here. No joke, that is literally how it was and I am the best spanish speaker in our zone haha. It was crazy!WE brought her to tears when my compañero taught her about recieving answers through feelings of the spirit and she told us how she felt like our message and church were true! I did understand that. So missionaries will be assigned to finish the job but it was powerful. Through broken spanish she felt the spirit that strong and I knew what to say to words I didnt know. It was crazy. So I could use a new pencil with all the different colors and a flash drive, however I leave in two and half weeks for Ecuador and it takes two weeks to get here so either send it asap or send it after I am in Ecuador. Also, through dear elder.com you can send me dughnuts and letters of all kinds, its a little hard to figure out but the missionaries appreciate it (hint hint). What is michelle´s mailing address? they have little missionary tags here that say things like future misionaro and hermana de misionaro that taj and haiven might like. Some tennis shoes might be good too because soccer has beat the crap out of my current ones. Oh also, weather still hasnt missed a day with rain. Everyday so far haha. Im not in cello anymore! Well love you guys, keep writing and maybe send a hand written once in awhile haha! Hasta luego Did Mom feel quilty? Oh Yea like only Mom can. Her response to Easton, "Oh man!! I feel bad! I am sending donuts ASAP!!! Damn family! We are writing letters!! Love you East!! I will also get some shoes to you too! Love Mom" |
